Unique Emiel Veranneman sideboard 1996
Price on request
Sideboard designed by the Belgian designer Emiel Veranneman produced by Decoene.
Made of lacquered wood in gray-blue color with a yellow accent in the door. One-of-a-kind furniture made for the previous owner.
"From 1960 Emiel Veranneman began to concentrate his efforts exclusively on furniture creations and interior decorations for clients, an evolution due to a profound dissatisfaction with the prevailing rules of the furniture industry.
The result was an impressive series of unique creations with the most important characteristics: harmony, monumental, tension, power and intellectual outflow.
One could call Emiel Veranneman's art furniture more radical and stubborn. an art form that is not impressed by the rules of the economy, nor by the fashionable desires of the public, least of all by the promptings of its clients or by artistic trends. All this makes it possible to really call Emiel Veranneman a monument in furniture art. His art stands alone among his contemporaries."
(Veranneman, Visie & Passie, p.162-163)
Comes with the original design drawing and provenance.

Art Deco Dressing Mirror by De Coene in Walnut Veneer, Belgium 1930s
Price on request
A refined example of Belgian Art Deco craftsmanship, this dressing mirror by De Coene Frères—crafted circa 1930—embodies the elegance, precision, and material richness that defined the interwar period. Late Art Deco Display Cabinet in Oak, Belgium 1940s

French Early 17th Century Louis XIII wardrobe
Price on request
A magnificent example of early 17th‑century French craftsmanship, this large Louis XIII period oak wardrobe dates to the early decades of the reign of King Louis XIII, father of the future Sun King and the monarch who laid the foundations for Versailles. It represents the moment when the armoire emerged as a new and important form in French domestic interiors, replacing earlier chests and coffers with more architectural, upright storage furniture.
Constructed on an impressive scale, the wardrobe features a deep projecting cornice above two beautifully carved doors, each adorned with raised geometric panels in the classic en pointes de diamants motif. This sculptural decoration, sharply faceted and meticulously executed, is one of the defining signatures of Louis XIII design. The original iron hardware remains intact, adding both authenticity and visual weight to the façade.

LK94 Sideboard by Maarten Van Severen (1994) Ghent, Belgium
Price on request
A rare and highly sought‑after example of Maarten Van Severen’s early studio production, this LK94 sideboard was crafted in 1994 in the designer’s own workshop in Ghent. It embodies the radical clarity, material honesty, and architectural precision that define Van Severen’s internationally acclaimed oeuvre.
Constructed in sleek anodized aluminum, the sideboard presents a pure, linear silhouette, stripped of ornament, yet rich in presence. The cool metallic surface, punctuated by exposed rivets and resting on discreet casters, reflects Van Severen’s fascination with industrial materials and his pursuit of a “crystal‑clear concept” in every design. The central open compartment and flanking closed sections create a balanced composition that is both functional and sculptural.
Van Severen’s work is celebrated for its powerful modesty: objects reduced to their essence, far removed from exuberant or decorative forms. Over two decades, he developed a body of work that earned international recognition for its precision, restraint, and tactile sensitivity. His furniture was produced for leading European companies, and his architectural sensibility led to collaborations with Rem Koolhaas / OMA on landmark projects in Paris, Bordeaux, Seattle, and Porto.
This LK94 sideboard stands as a quintessential expression of his philosophy, an object where concept, material, and execution align with absolute clarity. Studio‑made pieces from this period are especially prized for their rarity and direct connection to Van Severen’s hand and vision.

Art Deco Vitrine Cabinet Attributed to Gaston Poisson, France 1940s
Price on request
A distinguished example of French Art Deco refinement, this 1940s vitrine cabinet, attributed to Gaston Poisson. It captures the spirit of the French decorative arts during a period defined by craftsmanship, clarity of line, and a warm, architectural modernism. Poisson, alongside designers such as Charles Dudouyt, helped shape the aesthetic vocabulary of the French school of the 1940s, where sculpted wood, thoughtful proportions, and subtle ornamentation came together in harmonious balance.
The cabinet presents a beautifully composed silhouette: a luminous upper display section with sliding glass doors and a glass shelf, ideal for showcasing ceramics, glassware, or treasured objects. Antique Industrial Storage Locker, France ca. 1910
Price on request
A striking survivor of early 20th‑century French industrial design, this 1910 metal storage locker. It embodies the raw utility, honest construction, and tactile patina that define the golden age of European workshop furniture. Built for durability rather than ornament, it now stands as a sculptural object whose presence is shaped by more than a century of use, wear, and atmospheric aging.
The locker’s tall, narrow proportions and vented doors reflect the functional needs of factories, ateliers, and railway depots in the years before the First World War. Each compartment was designed to store work garments, tools, or personal belongings, with ventilation panels ensuring airflow in bustling industrial environments. The metal surface has developed a richly textured patina; oxidation, softened edges, and traces of its original finish, creating a depth of character that cannot be replicated. This weathering transforms the piece from a utilitarian object into a compelling artifact of labor history.
Inside, the compartments retain their original structure, offering a glimpse into the practical logic of early industrial storage. The open shelves, metal bases, and simple latching mechanisms speak to a time when furniture was engineered for endurance and clarity of purpose. Today, the locker’s raw, architectural silhouette makes it an ideal statement piece in contemporary interiors, where its rugged authenticity contrasts beautifully with clean lines and modern materials.
Whether used as a functional storage unit, a sculptural accent, or a conversation piece in a loft, studio, or retail space, this antique French locker brings with it the atmosphere of the workshops and factories that shaped modern Europe. 16th Century Italian Renaissance Cabinet in walnut with rich carvings
Price on request
Rare 16th Century Italian Renaissance cabinet in walnut with hand carved decorations of 3 heads and floral patterns frames.
The top part of this cabinet used to be an Italian Cassone or marriage chest. These chest were richly carved and were the trophy finishing of rich merchants and aristocrats in the Italian culture from the late Middle Ages onward. The Cassone was the most important piece of furniture of that time. It was given to a bride and placed in the bridal suite. It would be given to the bride during the wedding, and it was the bride's parents' contribution to the wedding. From the mid 18th century when people were settling the Cassones were transformed into a more practical cabinet by adding a base under the chest. The front of the chest became the door instead of the top. This cabinet is a beautiful example of this tradition. It still has its handles on each side as a testament to history.

French 19th Century Red‑Painted Stepback Cupboard in Pine
Price on request
A soulful example of 19th‑century French provincial furniture, this red‑painted stepback cupboard in pine. It embodies the charm, utility, and lived character that define rural craftsmanship of the period. Its form is practical and architectural: an upper open section for display or daily essentials, set above a lower cupboard enclosed by a single door. The proportions are modest, the construction honest, and the presence unmistakably authentic.
Hand‑built from solid pine, the cupboard reflects the straightforward joinery and functional design typical of rural France. The open shelves above would have held crockery, jars, or kitchen tools, while the lower compartment provided enclosed storage for household necessities. Its simplicity is intentional; furniture made to serve, endure, and blend into the rhythm of everyday life.
The exterior retains its original red paint, now beautifully worn and softened by time. Areas of natural distressing reveal the warm pine beneath, creating a layered surface rich in texture and history. This patina is not decorative artifice but the result of generations of use, giving the cupboard a depth and authenticity that modern finishes cannot replicate. The contrast between the weathered red exterior and the natural interior wood adds visual warmth and character.
Despite its humble origins, the cupboard has a sculptural quality that makes it highly adaptable in contemporary interiors. It works beautifully as: a kitchen or dining room storage piece, a hallway or entry cabinet with rustic charm, a display unit for ceramics, books, or textiles or a wabi‑sabi accent in minimalist or modern spaces. Its compact scale allows it to fit comfortably in both small and large rooms.
French stepback cupboards from the 19th century are increasingly sought after for their authenticity, practicality, and decorative warmth. This example stands out for its beautiful patina, original paint, and balanced proportions; an evocative piece that brings the spirit of rural France into the present.
