An elegant carved oak side chair from 18th‑century France, executed in the Régence style. The chair features a scrolled crest rail with a central shell motif and delicate floral carvings, flanked by three vertical splats with arched detailing. The apron and stretchers are finely molded and ornamented, while the turned and fluted legs terminate in block feet joined by a shaped stretcher.
Crafted from solid oak, the chair retains a warm, aged patina that highlights its fine grain and centuries of use. Structurally sound and sturdy, with minor wear consistent with age, it forms one of a matching pair (see ref. 26‑0461).
A refined example of French craftsmanship from the Régence period, combining sculptural elegance with enduring practicality; ideal for collectors and interiors seeking authentic 18th‑century character.
