Large french provincial farm table in elm wood, France ca. 1850

Price: Price on request

A generous and beautifully time‑worn French Provence farm table crafted in elm around 1850. This long table embodies the honest rural character of 19th‑century French craftsmanship, where sturdy construction and natural materials were designed to serve generations.

Originally painted white, the table has been recently sanded back, revealing warm elm tones beneath subtle traces of its former finish. These remaining white accents create a softly layered patina, giving the surface depth, texture, and a distinctly wabi‑sabi charm. The three drawers (as deep as the table wide is) along the front add both practicality and visual rhythm, while the legs show simple carved details typical of provincial furniture of the period.

Light signs of use are present, consistent with its age and history, and contribute to the authenticity of the piece. With its long proportions and rustic elegance, this farm table works beautifully as a dining table, console, or large workspace in both contemporary and traditional interiors.
